Colour temperatures (CCT) are used as a way to describe the apperance of light, measured in Kelvin (K) on a scale from 1000K to 10000K. Typically, commercial and residential lighting applications fall between 3000K and 6000K.

Warmer light works well for residential applications, for a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.

Cool light is more suitable for industrial and commercial settings, where the aim is to increase brightness, alertness and productivity.

While colour temperatures indicate the shade the light source appears to our eyes, the colour rendering index (CRI) refers to how accurately a light source renders the colour of objects. The higher the CRI, the more natural an object’s colour will appear.
