Metcash is Australia’s leading wholesale distribution and marketing company specialising in grocery, fresh food, liquor and hardware. With lighting costs contributing to a large portion of their energy bills, the grocery giants were particularly interested in becoming more energy efficient and taking control of their energy consumption.

Over 2,000 littil LED lights were installed across seven warehouses and the large office site; a combination of FORTIS T8 LED Tubes, VIVA LED Troffers, ZETTA LED Highbays and ARGO LED Corn Lamps.

The installation team battled against -200C temperatures in one warehouse containing 185 lights and all work took place during evenings and weekends so as not to disrupt Metcash’s daily operations.
Overall, the LED upgrade will save Metcash an enormous 2,901,800 kWh per annum, equivalent to over $300,000.
